Mr Afzal Choudry has a wealth of experience in dawah, teaching quran. delivering Islamic lectures and Friday khutbahs.

He was a founding member of the Islamic society of Papua New Guines, established in 1981. It now has dozens of mosques with over eight thousand Muslims throughout the country.

He also authored a book titled "Islam, me and Papua New Guinea".
